Cambridge, Massachusetts-based World Wide Web site creation software and implementations specialist Open Market Inc is one of the new breed of Internet-related companies generating much excitement in the US, and it is being seen as another opportunity to cash in for those that missed out on the Netscape Communications Corp flotation if it goes public soon. It still has only $5m annual sales, but has tapped a heavyweight in the shape of Gary Eichhorn, general manager of Hewlett-Packard Co’s medical products group, as its new chief executive. Open Market’s top brass expects that the company’s workforce will grow to nearly 500 over the coming year from its current 170 employees.
