SIGMA FORMS NEW SUBSIDIARY WITH A DOCUMENT AND IMAGING MARKET FOCUS

By CBR Staff Writer

Sigma Designs Inc, headquartered in Fremont, California, will combine the resources of its subsidiary company, DocuPoint, with its existing line of imaging display products into a single subsidiary company, known as Sigma Designs Imaging Systems. Using Sigma’s imaging technology base and document imaging technology designed by DocuPoint, Sigma Designs Imaging Systems will focus on providing complete systems for the document management and imaging market. Its product line will now include Sigma Designs’ high-resolution monitors – the ErgoView and MultiMode – for both Windows-compatible and Macintosh computers. DocuPoint’s imaging and optical storage systems will now be sold under the Sigma Designs Imaging Systems label to a network of value-added resellers, system integrators and national distributors. Sigma Designs will henceforth focus entirely on the multimedia personal computer market.
