RACAL-DATACOM ADDS MODULE FOR ITS INTERNEXT WIRING HUB THAT SUPPORTS CREATION OF SEPARATE NETWORK WORKGROUPS

By CBR Staff Writer

Racal Electronics Plc’s Hook, Hampshire unit Racal-Datacom Ltd has launched a module for its Internext wiring hub that is designed to enable local area network managers and administrators to create separate workgroup-level Ethernet segments on each module and then either filter or forward traffic as appropriate. The company says that the INX 10BT-FTR is a 12- or 24-port 10BaseT repeater, which includes elements built around custom circuit technology developed by Racal and by NCR Corp. It incorporates an SNMP management agent and MAC layer bridge. The 12-port version will ship for $3,000, the 24-port for $4,200.
