Infosecurity Europe 2024: Rethink the power of infosecurity

At Infosecurity Europe 2024, attendees can expect a dynamic lineup of keynote speakers, panel discussions, and interactive workshops that delve into the latest trends, threats, and solutions in cybersecurity.

Infosecurity Europe, held on 4-6 June at ExCeL London, promises to bring together industry leaders, cutting-edge technologies, and thought-provoking discussions to address the ever-evolving challenges in the cybersecurity landscape.

From exploring the impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning on security practices, to understanding the implications of emerging technologies, this event should provide invaluable insights and practical strategies to safeguard organisations against cyber threats.

As ever, the event is not simply about the tech and solutions, but the community that has been built around them. This year’s conference offers particular insight from leading women in the field; keynotes looking at how to address behaviours and performance, strengthening skills, building individual resilience; organisational optimisation and establishing common goals; and creating a future of collaboration and innovation.

The event boasts nine stages across three days, providing a comprehensive overview of all things infosecurity. The event will see almost 250 speakers, delivering over 200 sessions, across a range of theatres to suit all levels of experience, including strategy talks, tactical sessions, roundtables, and keynote sessions.

Driving high-performance

Generative AI presenter and deepfake expert, Henry Ajderwill is delivering the opening keynote, covering generative AI and its impact on the cybersecurity industry. On the Keynote stage, Henry will then be joined by Tope Olufon, senior analyst at Forrester, and Stephanie Itimi, CEO of Seidea, for a fireside chat session, ‘Wading through AI overload – where are we going and what are you doing?’  that will address the sensationalism and speculation within the industry.

Jake Humphrey and Professor Damian Hughes, the duo behind the hit High Performance Podcast, will be keynote presenters for day two of this year’s event.  Known for their longform conversations with top performers across various industries, the pair will delve into the non-negotiable behaviours that lead to success, sharing anecdotes and examples from their guests who have reached the pinnacle of their respective fields.

On Thursday, in an interview with Infosecurity Magazine’s editor, Beth Maundrill, Claire Williams OBE, one of the most prominent and successful women in recent Formula 1 history, will talk candidly about how to develop a strong team culture, take an organisation on a big transformational project, and navigate major change.

Inspiring women

Now hosted on the Keynote Stage, the eighth annual Women in Cybersecurity event will be bigger and better than ever. The growth and demand for this event is a testament to the importance of recognising and celebrating the achievements of women in the security industry.

The event will feature influential and inspiring women, including keynote speaker Stephanie Hare, who will share her journey and discuss her book, Technology is not Neutral: A Short Guide to Technology Ethics.

The event will also include a panel discussion with leading women in the field, covering topics such as identifying key skills, building personal brands, developing negotiation skills, empowering through mentorship, and addressing industry biases.

Leading by example

The Infosecurity Europe Leaders Programme is designed for senior cybersecurity professionals offering a unique opportunity to engage in strategic discussions, gain valuable insights, and network with industry leaders.

Be aware that strict membership criteria applies to the Leaders Programme with its access-all-areas pass, granting entry to the Leaders’ Lounge in the South Gallery Rooms and exclusive participation in Leaders’ Roundtable discussions, as well as exploring cutting-edge industry technology and solutions.

Seeking SME innovation

Infosecurity Europe, in collaboration with the Department of Science, Information and Technology (DSIT), is once again on the lookout for the UK’s most innovative cybersecurity companies.

The UK’s Most Innovative Cyber SME 2024 award will recognise and celebrate the creative and original contributions made by cybersecurity businesses in the UK market. Building on the success of previous winners like ANGOKA, TryHackMe, CAPSLOCK, and Hack the Box, the 14 finalists have the opportunity to showcase their solutions at the Cyber Innovation Zone. The winner will be announced live on the Cyber Innovation Showcase stage on 5 June.

Navigating Europe’s evolving threat ecosystem

Analyst partner Forrester will host an exclusive session providing valuable insight into the unique cybersecurity challenges facing European businesses and how leaders can tailor their security strategies accordingly.

It will consist of a keynote presentation from Forrester senior analysts, discussing new and emerging trends and threat actors targeting European businesses, the specific methodologies employed by adversaries in the region, and the role technology plays in augmenting these threats.

It will also involve a panel discussion delivering an engaging mid-year review of Forrester’s 2024 cybersecurity predictions.

Voice of the enterprise security customer workshop

Also partnering with Infosecurity Europe 2024, Frost & Sullivan will share its “Voice of the Enterprise Security Customer” survey. The team’s security growth experts will conduct an interactive conversation with attendees about what the data reveals for the UK, France, and Germany, accompanied by additional highlights from related security growth opportunity analyses. Attendees will receive complimentary copies of the findings discussed in the workshop.

Elsewhere, Security Workshops, 90-minute tactical training sessions, will offer in-depth practical meetings hosting expert speakers, covering topics including understanding ransomware capabilities, simplifying one’s cyber assessment framework and the evolving future of API security. The Strategy Talks stage, meanwhile, addresses the strategic business challenges impacting the information security world and illuminates a path to their solutions.

The Insight Stage is dedicated to revealing new perspectives and IT security approaches to use within one’s organisation, enhancing cyber-resilience and strengthening security posture. Talking Tactics will encourage attendees to learn from both end-users and vendors who have recently embarked on information security ventures. At the Technology Showcase exhibitors will shine a spotlight on their latest tech live in-person and address your requirements. The Innovation Showcase presents case studies that show real-world examples of how infosec solutions have been implemented and tech currently under development.

The Startup Showcase is exclusively for organisations operating for three years or less – giving them a platform to shine. The overarching intent is to demosntrate how working together can help lay down strong foundations for the success of up-and-coming companies and future generations of cyber firms.

Giving back

Attendees and exhibitors are invited to bring their old kit to the show to donate to charity Every Child Online. Every Child Online will securely wipe and destroy devices’ hard drives and deliver them to underprivileged children and young people through its partnered schools, charities, and social services.

SentinelOne will be hosting the “Man vs Machine” demo where SentinelOne’s Purple AI will go head-to-head with SOC analysts in a live, on-booth activation to see if they can outmatch the “Man” who will be threat hunting without it.

Join Hornet Security on the 4 June in the Technology Showcase for “Hackers face off live, and only one will remain!” – an interactive session testing one’s knowledge on spear-phishing and identity theft topics. Answer each question correctly to advance to the next round, until only one winner remains among you! Sharpen your social engineering techniques and brush up cybersecurity skills, as the winner will take home a Flipper Zero.

Once again, Cyber House Party returns to its spiritual home at Infosecurity Europe 2024 for another few days of uplifting community engagement and entertainment. The team will be present across the event, supporting positive collaboration, wellbeing and inclusivity.

On Wednesday night (5 June), as the sun sets, the doors of the Fox open to welcome everyone to the famous after-party – a place to meet, relax and help raise money for worthy charities. Tickets will be available online in advance, and on the door subject to capacity – keep an eye on socials for details. Infosec promises another after-party to remember.
