Oracle looks to the cloud for easier enterprise data integration

Customer's can tap into big data technologies such as Hive, HDFS, HBase and Sqoop.

By James Nunns

One of the big problems facing businesses is that of disparate data, which can slow down the process of successfully analysing data.

In order to help tackle this problem, Oracle has expanded its cloud portfolio with the launch of the Oracle Data Integrator Cloud.

The company says that this service will simplify and accelerate cross-enterprise data integration in order to support real-time analytics, which should help organisations make better business decisions.

The role that data has to play in the modern business is frequently in the news, but as more data moves to the cloud, getting hold of it across a large enterprise in a timely manner can be a challenge. data integration

Big Red says that its new product will help organisations to improve their agility by deploying projects more quickly and reduce risk with an open, non-proprietary technology.

Jeff Pollock, vice president of product management, Oracle, said: “To be effective and agile, enterprises need seamless communication and flow of data between sources and targets – data originating from IoT, Web, and business applications or data that is stored in the cloud or on premises.

“Oracle Data Integrator Cloud provides businesses with a high-performance, simple, and integrated cloud service to execute data transformations where the data lies, with no hand coding required, and without having to copy data unnecessarily.”

The service offers a flow-based declarative user interface along with release management capabilities that is said to help customers to improve productivity and better manage their code.

Oracle Data Integrator Cloud is fully integrated with Big Red’s other PaaS offerings and it also has pre-built integration for non-Oracle solutions. That’s so customers can switch between underlying big data technologies such as Hive, HDFS, HBase and Sqoop.
