BNN Corp, a New York-based sports and entertainment marketing company that has just reported first quarter profits of $381,400 on revenues of $1.2m, was somewhat startled last week when it received a press release claiming that the company had been acquired by GTE Corp for $616m. Seemingly unaware of similarly- named firm BBN Corp (CI No 3,155), the company said somewhat plaintively that it believes that this was issued in error since the company is not involved with any discussions with GTE, and is not involved in the enhanced internet service market business.
