Bachman Information Systems Inc has an OS/2 version of its Database Administrator for DB2. This release of version 3.1 of the Database Administrator for DB2 marks the complete conversion of all AD/Cycle-related Bachman computer-aided software engineering products to OS/2 from MS-DOS. The Bachman/Catalog Extract for DB2 enables customers to capture database designs from the DB2 catalogue for re-engineering in the Bachman/DBA for DB2 product. The Administrator for DB2 will cost $15,000 per licence. Bachman has also released details regarding the Bachman/Designer for Cross System Product – IBM’s fourth-generation language and code generator for AD/Cycle. Running under OS/2, the Bachman/Designer will generate Cross System Product code for compiling database application programs. The Bachman/Designer enables the user to take logic specifications from the Bachman/Analyst and create External Source Code Format, used by CSP to generate production applications; it’s out this quarter.
