AT&T COMPONENTS & ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS TO SELL CHIPS TO THIRD PARTIES

By CBR Staff Writer

Most people were under the impression that AT&T Components & Electronic Products was going all out to sell its chips and other components on the merchant market already, but not so, apparently: at all events, it has now announced that it will pull out all the stops to sell to third parties, with a target of 50% of its business outside the AT&T camp, compared with 17% now; analysts say the unit is losing about $100m a year on $1,500m to $2,000m.
