Apple Computer Inc, Cupertino, California is reorganising again, this time into four internal operating divisions, in recognition of the fact that it is now a $4,000m company. The four new units are Apple Products; a combined Apple Education and Apple Pacific; Apple Europe; and Apple USA. Each will have a president reporting to chairman John Sculley. Jean-Louis Gasse is the first president of Apple Products; Delbert Yocam gets Apple Education and Apple Pacific; Apple Europe goes to the present senior vice-president for Europe, Michael Spindler; and Allan Loren, presently in charge of Apple Integrated Services, is the new president of Apple USA. Jean-Louis Gasse’s brief takes in Product Marketing, Worldwide Manufacturing, and Research and Development. European sales have grown by 84% in the last 12 months alone, prompting the creation of an Apple Europe in Paris earlier this year.
