ALDUS CORP FOLLOWS UP NATIVE POWERPC FREEHAND WITH PAGEMAKER FOR POWER MAC

By CBR Staff Writer

Seattle-based Aldus Corp has announced US pricing and availability of the native PowerPC version of its Pagemaker page lay-out application. The new version of Pagemaker 5.0 is being sold separately from the 68000 version of the same program, not as a fat binary. The suggested US price is $900, the same as the existing 68000 version, but upgrading from one to the other will cost registered 5.0 users $180. No word yet on when version this version will make its appearance to the rest of the world. On April 21 the company also announced the native PowerPC version of its Freehand 4.0 illustration package. That package costs $600, with an upgrade from the 68000 version priced at $130.
