Dynasty Technologies Inc, recently re-vamped as a Redwood, California components and modular-based applications development tools company (CI No 3,179) has partnered with Provo, Utah-based Viewsoft Inc for its Java-based user interface, which Dynasty will integrate with its own back-end systems. Full details of the partnership deal will not be unveiled until the end of the month at the Dynasty User Group meeting, but include Dynasty taking an equity stake in Viewsoft, product integration and a worldwide OEM/reseller agreement, Dynasty said. Dynasty, which was bought by the European Technology and Finance arm of Milanese conglomerate Teknecomp SpA last year (CI No 3,047) has been issuing new releases of its Dynasty Development Environment with some speed, launching version 3.1 at the end of last month just a couple of months after release 3.0 (CI No 3,255). With the latest release, the company announced further support for transaction processing at the back-end, and said it could now generate HTML, to add to its existing Windows and Macintosh front-ends. It promised Java in its next, imminent release, and Dynasty spokesperson Geoff Roach says the Viewsoft deal will provide the missing Java element and speed its time to market.
