Speakers
Andrew Quail has been Director of IT and Innovation for SGN since September 2010 and is part of the executive leadership team of one of the leading utility companies in the UK. SGN distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses, and 15 million customers, across Scotland and the South of England and is part of the UK’s critical national infrastructure. SGN provides emergency gas escape response services as well as monitoring, management and safe control of the gas network.
Andrew has executive responsibility for Innovation within the company and oversees SGN’s highly successful and multi-award winning Innovation team. Also an experienced Non-Executive Director, Quail was named the UK’s leading CIO in 2019 and will discuss fundamentally changing what IT is and does, and the role of technology functions in 2021 and beyond.
Dr Madhu Bhabuta joined Vertical Aerospace as CIO in December 2019, where she is responsible for information and systems at the eVTOL startup which is a pioneer in the future of air travel.
Also a board trustee at the University of Bristol she was previously CTO at the Ministry of Defence and CIO at the UK Hydrographic Office, an executive agency of the MoD and a world-leading centre for hydrography specialising in marine geospatial data – where she led the transformation from paper to digital. Dr Bhabuta has held senior technology roles at Rolls-Royce, BT, Orange and Mitie.
John Quinn is an experienced Chief Digital Information Officer at the MHRA.
Quinn recently led a two-year business transformation programme at MHRA and successfully new Digital Platforms as part of the UK exit from the European Union.
Now an Executive Director on the MHRA Board, Quinn is helping to re-organise services around active and transformative pathways across the product lifecycle for medicines and devices.
Graeme Howard was appointed Covéa Insurance Chief Technology and Information Officer in February 2019. He is responsible for leading and evolving the company’s technology transformation strategy and technology innovation, as well as driving improvements in delivery and services for customers and colleagues.
He will discuss how the organisation responded to the pandemic, as well as its new and updated recovery plan coming out of the disruption
