Time-domain reflectometry measures how electrical lines are behaving through the observation of reflected waveforms.

This process is used practically when finding faults in wiring, cabling and fibre optics. It assists engineers by locating exactly where the problem is occurring so that it can then be fixed. These errors may be within printed circuit boards or connectors.
