SoundCloud is a social media platform that is primarily used for the distribution of audio tracks.
Based in Germany and created in September 2007 by Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss, it allows for the sharing and promotion of originally created sounds.
According to the company the service attracts more than 175 million unique monthly visitors and content creators upload around 12 hours of audio every minute.
Three different plans are available for users on SoundCloud, free, pro, and pro unlimited.
The free subscription only allows for three hours as the upload quota and only basic stats like plays, likes, reposts, and comments. The pro version offers 6 hours and more extensive stats and control tools, this will cost £3.99 a month.
The pro unlimited version costs £8 a month and gives the user an unlimited quota for uploads, extensive tools and stats. Deeper stats include being able to see things like the traffic sources and insights into which cities are listening.
