What is Ruby?

The language aims to blend functional and imperative programming.

Ruby is a general purpose programming language.

It aims to blend functional programming with imperative programming.

The language is designed to be simple and elegant to use.

Ruby supports multiple programming paradigms, such as functional, object-oriented, and imperative.

There is a dynamic type system and automatic memory management.

It was designed and developed by Yukihiro Matsumoto, inspired by his favourite programming languages such as Perl, Smalltalk, Eiffel, Ada and Lisp.
