Orange, formerly France Telecom and formerly Orange S.A., is a French telecoms company privatised in 1988.

Orange was created as a brand when Hutchinson Whampoa acquired a controlling stake in Microtel Communications. It launched as a mobile brand in the UK before later being combined with T-Mobile to create EE in 2010.

EE is now part of the BT Group, with the acquisition being completed in 2015.
