What is OpenGL?

Open Graphics Library (OpenGL) is a an open graphics standard for rendering 2D and 3D vector graphics.

It is a cross-language, cross-platform application programming interface (API) which is used to interact with a graphics processing unit (GPU) to render through hardware.

It is used for rendering 2D and 3D vector graphics.

It is used widely in computer-aided design, virtual reality, visualisation, simulation and video games.
