What is mobile data?

This keeps you going anywhere you go.

By Joao Lima

Mobile data, or mobile internet data or mobile wireless internet access, is how mobile devices get their internet connection in place.

Mobile data allowances are increasing in size as users’ internet consumption is also on the rise.

Mobile data is usually sold as a way of keeping people connected to the internet on the go, enabling them to check emails, browse the internet, check weather conditions, maps, and others.

As a vast majority of mobile data allowances are quite reduced, watching videos online or playing online games can quickly drain one’s allowance.

Data plans today average between 1GB to 5GB, with more expensive ones also available.

An average 2G data allowance plan lets a user surf the web for about 89 hours pr spend nine hours on Skype.
