What is Maya?

Find out about the company that has produced graphics for popular films and TV shows.

Maya is shortened from Autodesk Maya, a software producer for 3D applications such as video games and animated films.

Released in 1998, Maya is available in English, Japanese and Chinese.

Maya runs on Windows, OS X and Linux operating systems.

It was originally developed by Alias Systems Corporation. In the past, Maya collaborated with Walt Disney in order to produce the film Dinosaur, released in 2001. Maya dealt with the user interface of this film after a request from Disney.
