What is Kanban?

Find out how Kanban can help.

By James Nunns

Kanban is a scheduling system for lean manufacturing and just-in-time manufacturing.

The inventory control system is designed to control the supply chain and was developed by Taiichi Ohno, an industrial engineer at Toyota. It was developed to improve manufacturing efficiency.

One of the main benefits of Kanban is the ability to establish an upper limit to the work in process inventory, this helps to avoid overloading the manufacturing system.
