Jenkins is an IT tool which merges all developer working copies to a shared mainline in the process of Continuous Integration (CI). This is useful for software engineering.

Jenkins is written in the computer programming language of Java.

Jenkins was originally developed as the Hudson project, but in 2011, Jenkins was created to run alongside it.

The American multinational computer technology corporation, Oracle, originally provided stewardship and control for the Hudson Project. Oracle oversaw the emergence of Jenkins alongside this original software developer.
