Web hosting explained.

By Joao Lima

Hosting, or more formally web hosting, refers to the practice of providing internet hosting services by housing and offering follow up services and maintenance to individuals and organisations hosting their website with a web hosting service provider.

Those hosting the service usually allocate part of a server, a server, or a group of server to a customer to ensure that a website is available on the internet by providing internet connectivity.

As the internet sees the appearance of thousands of new websites on a daily basis, services providers have over the last few years come up with new ways of servicing their clients to address everyone’s needs.

A popular way of hosting is through free services, however, this will have limitations regarding the things that are offered and what can be used.

In addition there is shared web hosting services, resellers, virtual dedicated servers, dedicated hosting services, etc.
