What is FLAC?

Designed just for audio compression.

FLAC is a shortened version of Free Lossless Audio Codec.

FLAC is best known for compressing audio so that there is more storage space without detracting from the quality of the sound.

Josh Coalson is credited with developing FLAC, which has been available on Android since version 3.1 which was released in 2011. FLAC can also be accessed in Windows 10.

FLAC is free of charge for users and can be used for any purpose, both commercially and non-commercially. Since there are no licensing fees for FLAC, meaning that customers can distribute and stream audio content without any restrictions.
