What is e-commerce?

Online transactions for businesses and consumers alike

E-commerce, short for electronic commerce, involves trading products or services through online social networks, or more commonly, the internet.

Stylised as e-commerce or eCommerce, technology such as mobile devices, electroinc funds transfer, Internet marketing and electronic data exchange enable e-commerce.

E-commerce is a broad term and may refer to; online shopping sites for sales dircet to consumers, online marketplaces, B2B buying and selling, pretail for new products or services, financial exchanges and marketing via email or fax.
