Dell EMC, which was formerly known as EMC Corporation and Dell, is an American technology company.

The company was created after Dell announced in 2015 that it had launched a bid to acquire EMC for $67bn, a record amount for a tech company. The merger closed in September 2016.

The new company is capable of offering a complete end-to-end solution, meaning that it has products in every field from consumer and up through the IT stack from servers, storage, cloud, networks and more.

Dell EMC has in its portfolio products and services in areas such as; data storage, information security, virtualisation, analytics and cloud computing.

Previously as EMC, the company had over 70,000 employees and was the world’s largest provider of data storage systems. Dell meanwhile had 101,800 employees.

What markets are Dell EMC targeting?  

Dell EMC’s target markets include large companies and small-medium sized businesses across various vertical markets.

Dell EMC sells products and services which are designed to allow IT departments to move to a cloud computing model and also analyse big data.

Under the new banner of Dell EMC still exists companies such as VMware, Pivotal, RSA Security and more.
