What is Deezer?

Is Deezer a good alternative to Spotify?

By James Nunns

Deezer is a music streaming service with more than 43 million licensed tracks.

Users can listen to or download music from most major record labels. It also has tens of thousands of radio channels and can present users with tailored recommendations.

Deezer can be downloaded as a free app or subscribed to for a fee. The app is available on Web, Android, Kindle Fire HDX, OS X, BlackBerry, iOS, Windows Phone and Symbian.

It is a subscription service, with a premium option available that provides the ability to listen to the music at higher quality and download it to listen offline.

The free version is supported by the users listening to advertising, while the premium version is unlimited without ads. This is a similar model to Spotify.

How much does Deezer cost?

Some operators and smartphone vendors bundle Deezer with their products.

As of January 2017, Deezer had over 6.9 million total subscribers.
