What is clustering?

United IT remains stronger.

By Joao Lima

In computer the act of ‘clustering’ something refers to bringing two or more computers/servers together and making them act as a single machine.

In clustered computing environments, each node is pre-defined to perform the same talks, controlled and schedules by software.

To connect clusters’ components together, usually a local area network (LAN) connection is used.

LAN, or local area network, is a computer network that covers a small geographic area such as an office building or a university.
