CES, or in its full glory, Consumer Electronics Show, is one of the largest technology trade fairs which occurs every year.
The show is organised by the Consumer Technology Association and it is hosted in Las Vegas, at the Last Vegas Convention Center and attracts nearly 200,000 attendees.
CES is usually used by companies, from Dell to Fitbit, to unveil their main consumer products for that given year.
The show, which typically takes place in the second week of January.
What happened to the show in Chicago?
The show first started in 1967 when it was hosted in New York City as a spinoff from the Chicago Music Show, this show had been the main event for consumer electronics.
It started off at a decent size, with around 17,500 attendees and over 100 exhibitors as Motorola chairman Bob Galvin got it under way.
For nearly two decades, from 1978 to 1994, there was two CES shows a year, one in Chicago and one in Vegas. This was changed to just one a year in 1998 after touring different cities from 1995 proved unsuccessful.
