What is Adobe Photoshop?

Have you seen a Photoshop disaster or competed in a Photoshop contest?

By

Adobe Photoshop is a popular graphics editor by Adobe.

Adobe Photoshop is known as a raster graphics editor, which is a computer program that lets users create and edit images and then save them in one of many formats.

Photoshop has become the de facto industry standard, with the term ‘photoshopping’ becoming a verb of its very own. However, the term ‘photoshopping’ has negative connotations – i.e a model photoshopped to appear slimmer – and Adobe discourages its use.

Photoshop has a number of tools which users can leverage to manipulate and edit images – the clone tool duplicates part of an image; the shape tool creates rectangles, circles and lines; the pen tool creates precise paths that uses anchor points. Other tools include cropping, slicing, magic wand, lasso, eraser and marquee, among others.
