What is a supply chain?

How raw materials are transformed into products.

By Alexander Sword

A supply chain is the network between a company and suppliers that allows it to build and distribute a product to a customer.

The supply chain allows the raw materials to be transformed into a finished product.

Any number of companies can be involved in the supply chain, although it is typical for different companies to handle different activities such as resource extraction, manufacturing and sales.
