“UNIXSYS? – SORRY I THOUGHT THIS WAS UNISYS”

By CBR Staff Writer

First thing we said when we heard that the new name was to be Unisys Corp was oh-oh, there’s going to be endless confusion with the well-established French Unix systems company Unixsys – but the message still doesn’t seem to have filtered through to many of the folks at Sperroughs that there is such another company: to add to the fun, at last week’s Unix User Show at Olympia, the Unisys and Unixsys stands were almost opposite one another, which led to the delightful scene of a lost Sperrough rushing onto the Unixsys stand and saying right, then, where can I put my coat, pausing, then, covered with confusion, pulling his coat back on, making an excuse and leaving to dash off to look for the stand that he was meant to be manning.
