UNIONS CALL FOR STRIKE AT CAP GEMINI SOGETI

By CBR Staff Writer

Three of Cap Gemini Sogeti SA’s four trades unions have called for a strike on Thursday to protest the company’s intention to cut 10%, or approximately 600 posts, from the rolls of its French subsidiary, Cap Sesa: the first strike call came from the Confederation Francaise de Travailleurs, after it refused to sign an agreement with Cap Gemini management that would have enabled all of the various divisions of Cap Sesa to negotiate their positions together, said Jean-Claude Langolf, union delegate for the Confederation Generale de Cadre which will not participate in the strike; although the strike is being supported by three of the unions, Langolf believes the impact on Thursday will be very, very weak – everyone is fed up with strikes in France, after this week of train strikes.
