TransAct to provide Ithaca 8040 printer for global food service retailer

TransAct Technologies, a manufacturer of printers for transaction-based industries, has been selected by a global quick service restaurant retailer to provide its new Ithaca 8040 thermal printer to approximately 11,000 of its US locations for the retailer's new coffee and beverage initiative.

TransAct will partner with the NCR Corporation to provide an integrated printer and paper system, building on initial agreement with the retailer.

According to TransAct, the new Ithaca 8040 prints a two-inch wide receipt that is expected to adhere to the customer’s coffee or beverage cup, making it simple for employees behind the counter to efficiently process the customer’s order. The roll out of the Ithaca 8040 will occur throughout 2009 to various franchise locations, with some franchisees ordering one to two printers per store.

Bart Shuldman, chairman, president and CEO of TransAct Technologies, said: We are extremely pleased to now be able to provide the Ithaca 8040 to almost all of the retailer’s US locations. Further, we are pleased to add to our relationship with the quick service retailer and NCR, which has already benefited all involved companies since the advent of this relationship in 2008. We look forward to growing this relationship through 2009 and beyond.
