Revamped Sophos Mobile Security to protect Android users against USSD special codes

Sophos Mobile Security will also provides protection against malicious apps, protects data in case of loss and theft

By CBR Staff Writer

IT security and data protection firm Sophos has upgraded its Mobile Security app with a new enhancement to protect Android users against USSD special codes.

The upgraded app will allow users to protect against the execution of special codes on their Android devices, preventing websites or applications from performing unwanted functions.

To protect against the execution of special codes, Sophos Mobile Security will register as the receiver for all special codes and then prompts the user with a notification when a special code is accessed, giving the user control over the execution of the special code.

For all normal telephone calls, Sophos Mobile Security app will not intercept the dialing process and let the numbers be dialed immediately.

In addition, Sophos Mobile Security will also provides protection against malicious apps, protects data in case of loss and theft and guides users to have safe settings on the device.
