Punchey introduces new payments platform for SMBs

The new platform will enable local merchants to accept payments through internet-enabled, marketing proficient, socially aware tools

By CBR Staff Writer

Mobile payment firm Punchey has unveiled a new payments platform for small and mid-sized businesses to securely conduct transactions, whether through a mobile device, on the Web or at the store counter.

The new platform will enable local merchants to accept payments through internet-enabled, marketing proficient, socially aware tools and software that help check out and bill customers, while capturing critical data.

It also offers physical card readers: Punchey Mobile Card Reader and Punchey Countertop Card Reader that allow merchants to swipe credit cards and handle customer checkout.

The Mobile Card Reader authorises sales, captures signatures and sends digital receipts to customers. It is compatible on any iOS device and connects through Wi-Fi or a 3G/4G connection, while Countertop Card Reader is compatible with the PCs and Macs that local retailers already have at their place of business.

These two "smart terminals" are designed to completely replace the analog dial terminal typically found at brick and mortar stores.

Punchey also has several value added communications and marketing capabilities along with payment platform, enabling merchants to automatically create accounts for each customer and populate them with personalised rewards, special offers and communications.

Punchey founder Nathaniel Stevens said:"We’re bringing small businesses on the grid, connecting the local shopping experience to their upstream marketing initiatives."
