McAfee’s security products to protect new Windows 8 OS

Windows 8 operating systems is scheduled to be launched in October 2012

McAfee’s consumer and enterprise security products are set to support Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8, which is Microsoft’s new operating systems scheduled to be launched in October 2012.

According to the firm, its security products have been enhanced provide broad protection against latest and emerging threats for users and businesses renewing the new platforms.

McAfee vice president and CTO Simon Hunt said Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 are products that continue to push the computing industry forward with an array of new features, as well as new security and performance enhancements.

"Our developers have been working with Microsoft to offer consumers and enterprises the tools necessary for protection against all threat vectors and against data loss," Hunt said.

Designed to support Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, McAfee’s enterprise and small to medium business (SMB) products are claimed to offer organisations of all sizes with tough protection against known and unknown threats.

McAfee’s consumer products are compatible with Windows 8 and will assist users to enhance their security.

According to the firm, consumers who have been subscribed to McAfee products with default settings intact will be automatically restructured to Windows 8-compatible versions.

The users downloading the product from the web or installing from the CD will be automatically offered with new version which is mpatible with Windows 8.
