Liquidware’s ProfileUnity to be available on Desktone platform

User personalisation, retains user settings with persistent desktop for individuals.

By CBR Staff Writer

Liquidware Labs, a provider in assessment, migration, and user experience management for next-generation desktops, has partnered with Desktone, a provider of Desktops as a Service for making Liquidware’s ProfileUnity to be available in desktone platform.

ProfileUnity is a user environment management offering for Windows desktop infrastructure, with benefits for virtual environments. It separates user profiles, configurations, and data from the Windows OS.

ProfileUnity requires no software to be installed to endpoints and features a database-free architecture.

The new tool features one unified user profile for both Windows XP and Win 7, automated migration of user authored data, central management of user settings, and persistency of user persona and settings even in non-persistent VDI environments.

The Desktone Platform is the only-purpose built offering for providing desktops in the cloud. It is designed to deliver the flexibility, savings and scalability that service providers and enterprises require.

The new offering has multi-tenancy capabilities that make it easy for service providers to scale by creating, managing and monitoring multiple customers on the same shared infrastructure.

Liquidware Labs and Desktone are integrating ProfileUnity with the Desktone Platform to make cloud computing a flexible and affordable option for desktop environments.

Desktone CEO Peter McKay said a non-persistency is key to making cloud computing attractive for desktops because it enables the lower cost, anywhere-access flexibility that enterprises require and profile management critical to making non-persistency viable.

Liquidware Labs founder Tyler Rohrer said the industry is very intrigued by the idea of moving desktops to the cloud, and Desktone is forging the way with innovative cloud-hosted desktop solutions.
