Qualcomm Inc, the San Diego, California-based wireless digital communications company said yesterday that is has successfully defended itself against a patent infringement suit brought by systems integrator BTG Inc. BTG had alleged that Qualcomm’s CDMA wireless systems and its Omnitracs two-way data and position reporting system (utilizing geostationary satellites) infringed pioneering BTG patents and that Qualcomm owed BTG tens of millions of dollars in damages.
