Oracle Corp has said it is set to distribute 60-day trials of nearly all of its programs over the internet, including its business database products. The company says it intends to help establish an industry trend of delivering software over the net. Speculation suggests Oracle could be trying to avoid infiltration of its market share by Microsoft Corp, which intends to release a new database product in the not so distant future. Oracle is targeting corporate customers hoping they won’t mind lengthy down load time which consumers generally can’t be bothered with.
