IBM Corp now has Multimedia Presentation Manager/2, a set of extensions to OS/2 2.0 environment that support sound, graphics, video and images through the use of what it describes as an easy-to-program high-level interface: it makes use of OS/2’s pre-emptive multitasking, and facilitates synchronisation of the multimedia elements; there is also a toolkit to assist integration of multimedia into new and existing applications, which includes C language binding, utilities and sample programs; Multimedia Presentation Manager/2 requires OS/2 2.0 and costs $125; the Toolkit/2, which includes the base product, is offered on CD-ROM at $200.
