Motorola Inc’s Wireless Enterprises group is shipping an MS-DOS version of its WaveGuide toolkit to independent software vendors US-wide and Macintosh and Windows versions of the product are planned for later this year: WaveGuide is the first in a family of Motorola software products designed to bridge the gap between wireless communications and personal computing devices; the toolkit is a software and documentation package designed to enable software developers to concentrate on the application, and not the dynamics of wireless communications technology; it encapsulates all real-time message routing, queuing and low-level communications functions associated with wireless data communications and currently supports the Ardis public shared network; in the future it will support multiple networks; the company did not put a price on it.
