L M Ericsson AB has won a contract from Bosnia’s telephone administration to rebuild the mobile telephone network in Sarajevo. Part of the project, which includes two AXE exchanges in Sarajevo, will be financed by Swedish overseas aid agency SIDA. No financial details were given but work will begin on May 1 for completion by the fall when some 40,000 subscribers will be able to use the network via the new exchanges. A large part of the country’s network was put in by Ericsson before the war.
