The companies will offer information technology (IT) services and support.

By CBR Staff Writer

HP Enterprise Services along with its and its next generation enterprise network (NGEN) alliance partners has secured a contract from the US Department of the Navy to deliver NGEN network.

If US Navy exercises all the options, the contract value could be worth $3.45bn over five years, under which alliance partners will deliver broad range of information technology (IT) services and support for more than 800,000 sailors, marines and civilians in the continental United States, Hawaii and Japan.

The NGEN partners include AT&T Government Solutions, IBM Global Business Services Federal, Lockheed Martin Services, and Northrop Grumman Systems.

HP president and CEO, Meg Whitman, said that the company is continuing its partnership with the US Navy with the award of the contract.

"HP and its team of world-class partners recognise the importance of keeping the Navy’s backbone IT network secure, operational and moving forward for Sailors and Marines to support their operations," Whitman said.

According to the Navy, the first $321,689,010 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for NGEN will continue through June 2018 if all options are exercised.
