A new survey by Banner Research shows strong growth in the remote access networking market, both in the number of new companies adopting the technology and in the number of users within organizations gaining remote access capabilities. The maturing of remote access technology, coupled with price reductions and the recognition of the business benefits that remote access can deliver, are the main factors fueling wider adoption, according to Banner Research. The survey, which interviewed IT decision makers in 400 companies, showed that 26% of organizations – 34,000 in total – already had some remote access capability. This installed base is forecast to grow at a rate of 131% to 78,000 in the next 12 months. Growth is expected to be particularly strong among smaller companies (less than 50 PCs) where an increase in remote access adoption of 295% is forecast.
