Google, AOL renew, expand global partnership

Agreement includes search and advertising products, mobile search, and YouTube

By CBR Staff Writer

Google and AOL have renewed and expanded a five-year global partnership agreement, which was formed to provide Google’s search services to AOL’s content network and properties, in exchange for a revenue-sharing arrangement between AOL and Google.

The new expanded agreement now includes mobile search and YouTube.

The company said that the new agreement includes an array of features including search products; advertising products; mobile search; and YouTube.

AOL and YouTube have agreed to a content partnership, which allows AOL’s video content on YouTube.

AOL chairman and chief executive officer Tim Armstrong said that AOL users will be getting a better search and search ads experience from the best search company in the world – Google.

"After nearly a decade-long partnership in search, the companies are looking forward to expanding their global relationship to mobile search and YouTube," Armstrong said.
