Social networking site is plannng an overhaul of its news feed that users generate. The company is turning the service into a "personal newspaper" where users can fidn out "what matters most."
Facebook said in an official blog that it will also roll out a ticker service to capture live updates of users.
Facebook engineering manager Mark Tonkelowitz said that the company is changing its news feed from its old chronological model to a more interesting one where it will keep social network users apprised of what "what matters most."
"In the past, News Feed hasn’t worked like that. Updates slide down in chronological order so it’s tough to zero in on what matters most," said Tonkelowitz.
In addition, the company said that there would be interactive Ticker updates on the Facebook homepage.
"Until now, there hasn’t been an easy way to see and chat with your friends about photos, articles, and other things they’re posting in real-time."
"The new ticker helps you do just that," Tonkelowitz wrote.
