Eyeo, the developer of AdBlock Plus, will launch a new software for Android phones to block all ads on mobile, according to the Financial Times.
AdBlock Plus’ mobile version will block adverts both on the mobile’s browser and in other apps used in Facebook or Angry Birds.
Social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, will face difficulties with the launch of new software as the sites users are transforming to mobile.
Eyeo’s co-founder Till Faida was quoted by the Financial Times as saying that, "This will be the first app to remove all adverts on your phone. There is a great need for it."
According to the news paper, the PC-version of AdBlock Plus, which has been downloaded by over 50 miilion people, blocks pop-up and display adverts on websites, as well as the unskippable adverts that precede videos on websites such as YouTube.
AdBlock Plus is downloaded by about 100,000 times per day globally and features a "whitelist" of websites with unintrusive adverts like Amazon, whose adverts are not blocked, said the Financial Times.
According to Faida, it is not possible to buy access to the "whitelist".

"The main goal is to make sure that the small publishers and bloggers are not harmed by ad-blocking, so they can continue to provide their content for free," he said.
