Enterprise anti-spyware for free

PC Tools Pty Ltd hopes to boost its corporate credentials by offering a cut-down version of its enterprise anti-spyware software for free to small installations.

By CBR Staff Writer

For companies under 500 seats, the company will hand out its Spyware Doctor, minus some features, free of charge, PC Tools said.

According to vice president of product strategy Mike Greene, users of the free product will get spyware signature updates once a week, rather than once a day like paid-up users.

Also, some functionality has been removed. For instance, the free product does not include cookie blocking, keylogger detection, or real-time scanning of instant messaging for spyware.
