DELL SELLS $3M A DAY THROUGH ITS WEB SITE

By CBR Staff Writer

Dell Computer Corp founder Michael Dell is claiming the company is now recording sales from its website totaling $3m a day, seven days a week. Dell told Reuters that’s up from $2m a day in the second quarter and $1m a day in the first, and if things carry on the way they are at the moment it will mean about $1bn of sales this year. Dell was speaking at the Gartner Group IT symposium in Florida. He noted that Dell’s fastest growing market was now education, traditionally an Apple Computer Inc stronghold.
