Horsham, Pennsylvania-based AS/400 peripherals marketer Decision Data Computer Corp and Sussex Investments Ltd have bought the assets of Qantel Corp, the one piece of Mohawk Data Sciences Inc that survived Asher Edelman’s attentions following the Hayward, California’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in September, and also the equity of the Canadian and Australian subsidiaries. Assets bought include all accounts receivable, inventory and spare parts, intellectual property rights including copyrights, trademarks, trade names, trade secrets, schematic diagrams, manufacturing documentation, patents, applications software, QicBridge software and operating systems software. Most Qantel employees will be retained by Decision Data and Sussex. Operations in Hayward will transfer to Decision Data’s facility in Fremont, and support of Qantel’s proprietary machines will be continued.
